The Scoop: The Young Winos is a gathering of twenty-something Angelenos (people who live in LA) who meet once a week to drink and discuss wine.
Behind the scenes: Participate in Young Winos! Interact with us! Whether you want to come out to one of the LA chapter’s legendary weekly tastings or simply interact with other Young Winos around the country, you need to make yourself a profile on our social network by clicking the button below. Once there, be sure to affiliate yourself with the Young Winos of LA chapter to receive the weekly meeting announcements. Join The Young Winos The weekly tastings: our gatherings are capped around sixteen Winos per meeting in order to preserve some semblance of order, and members who have spent a long time in the group receive preference in assigning those spots; however, a portion of seats at every meeting meeting is reserved for new members. Once you’ve made a profile on youngwinos.com and joined the LA chapter on that site, you’ll receive an e-mail every Sunday night detailing the coming week’s meeting and information on how to RSVP. Depending on the specifics, attendees bring either a bottle or a $10 tasting donation which gets put towards a not-for-profit Winos fund; that, in turn, pays for everything from pricey bottles for the tastings, to gas money for the field trips, to web hosting fees.
Cast and Crew: http://youngwinosofla.com/?page_id=41
Bios: Host Jesse Porter – “The Chairman” - arrived in Los Angeles in 2005 with nothing but a single suitcase and a dream of a wine club for young people. And also a car full of additional luggage. Oh, and his parents mailed him some other stuff as well. Jesse enjoys jammy Petite Sirahs and racy Sauv Blancs from nuclear-free countries, but his favorite wine remains big bad Barolo – the bigger and badder the better. Among Jesse’s proudest accomplishments are his birth, his support of the 2007 Cubs which doubtless helped them win the NL Central, and his coining of the definitive Young Winos tasting-order mantra: “white before red, no pain in the head. Red before white… yeah f*cking right.”

Alex Bogusky, the Chief Creative Officer, has been a driving force behind making Crispin, Porter + Bogusky into the success it is today. His next challenge is convincing the world that Microsoft is still as hip and cool as Apple. Now that is a worthy challenge. Check it out: www.cpbgroup.com
